"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION..."

This is probably the most stated principle in the real estate industry and "Anacortes, Anacortes, Anacortes" is its three-part answer. This city is the primary reason I chose a career in real estate. It is the reason why I moved to Fidalgo Island. Anacortes draws people from near and far. It is a place people come to stay.

Located on Fidalgo Island between Seattle and Bellingham, Anacortes provides small-town, island living and permits spontaneous big-city getaways. The Puget Sound, Cascade and Olympic Mountains and a moderate climate make each season enjoyable and special. From sailing, water skiing, and salmon fishing to snow skiing, hiking, and horseback riding, your outdoor activity can be accomplished on or around the island; and at the very farthest, an hour and a half drive to the lifts. And if you haven't enjoyed a summer here in Anacortes, you are letting the best in the world pass you by. From mid-June until the end of September, each month provides blue skies day in and day out with 70-80 degree temperatures. No humidity, no sweltering heat. Just warm days and cool nights. You won’t even miss your air conditioning.

In the fall and winter months, the town receives its due amount of rain, yet the cumulative averages in rainfall amount to a third less than in Seattle. Furthermore, any rain in the Sound area means snow in the hills. And with such great ski areas as Mt Baker and Stevens Pass so close, a day trip is undoubtedly in order a few times each month.

Anacortes has approximately 15,800 residents that are established in a variety of career fields from medical to military, from 'retired here' to 'born and raised', and from marine industry to small-town retail and restaurants. Enjoy the benefits of an excellent school system, a new library, five marinas, two ferry landings, a cinema, a theater, endless trail systems, and the list goes on and on. Enjoy the quaint charm of a northwest seaside town with the benefits of still being easily connected to the mainland.

So the next time you hear the words "location, location, location..." think "Anacortes, Anacortes, Anacortes..."
